TurtleSkin Thermal Vent Armor for IED Blast Protection

TurtleSkin Thermal Vent Armor (TVA) is a lightweight, flexible extremity protective garment designed to safeguard against a complex set of IED (improvised explosive device) and PMP (packed metal projectile) blast trauma injuries. TVA offers blast protection to soldiers without adding additional thermal burden or impeding their mobility. Our flexible armor technology combines a sophisticated moisture and thermal management configuration with IED blast protection for the limbs that allows breathability, comfort and full joint articulation.

TurtleSkin TVA is constructed, in part, using heavy 100% para-aramid yarns which are woven together. This mesh construction creates a soft and flexible weave that exhibits extreme high strength and tenacity while offering significant breathability and thermal relief to the user. This mesh is also reinforced with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyurethane (UHMWPE) so that the overall system provides flexible, lightweight and breathable extremity protection designed specifically to address a complex set of IED threats.
